The West Australian Irish Famine Memorial
INTERPRETATION

This Memorial Commemorates the Great Irish Famine of 1845–1852, and the impact that this ‘outpouring’ of desperate people from Ireland had upon Australia, although the experience in Western Australia was that of emigration rather than starvation.

Hi,

I'm reaching out in regards to your website. My oldest daughter, Emily, spent the last few months of school working on her project for her history class. ( She is so happy she is on summer break! HaHa) She gave a great presentation on immigration through Ellis Island and the life of an Immigrant. Emily's a great student, but History has never been her strong suit. She can thank me for that one, as we are both better with our numbers!

Emily developed a real genuine curiosity of History, for our family trip this summer we took a trip to Ellis island, Philadelphia and Boston. She absolutely LOVED it!

Your page was such a help to Emily's success, she got an 85! She even cited your page in her project. Emily came across this article on the history of Ellis Island  https://libertycruise.nyc/packages/history-of-ellis-island  and wanted to share it with you. Would you mind adding the link to your resource page? I know it would Make Emily so proud. If you do, feel free to shoot me an email so we can show her how she contributed!

Thanks again and have a great summer! :)
